Xiaomi sells a million Redmi 3s smartphones in India through Flipkart

Xiaomi smartphones are quite popular in markets like China and India, especially due to their value-for-money factor. The Redmi Note 3 was the best-selling smartphone in India in the online segment. Now, the company has managed to create another milestone by selling the affordable Redmi 3S and the Redmi 3S Prime smartphones in the country. Today, Flipkart has announced that it has sold one million units of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S since the month of August.

To recap you with the specifications, the Redmi 3S is the base variant of the smartphone, and it features a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top of it. It also comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 405 GPU. There’s 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In the camera department, the phone comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and it can also record 1080p videos. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels and a video recording resolution of 1080p.

The higher-end variant of the Redmi 3s is the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, which packs in almost all the similar features, but it comes with higher RAM at 3GB and double the storage at 32GB. The Redmi 3S is available for $101 (INR 6,999), while the Redmi 3S Prime costs around  $130 (INR 8,999). Xiaomi has also launched the Redmi 3s Plus, a variant of the Redmi 3s, exclusively for the offline or brick-and-mortar stores in India. Recently, the company has received a huge response for the Xiaomi Redmi 4 in China. The company also launched the futuristic Mi Mix smartphone, and experts believe that it could pave way for all the smartphones in the future.
